MIST SYSTEMS
The
water-mist extinguishing philosophy is simply a smart approach to control and
extinguish different types of fires.
The low-pressure water mist produces great water surface that absorbs heat
and extinguishes fire far more than technology that rely in mass of water.
The soft drops additive reduces the surface tension of water, which, with
the special nozzles, enables the formation of water-mist low pressure.
Water mist produces much more water surface area than traditional technology,
and thus, multiplying the cooling effect. Furthermore, an oxygen and air
preventing film on the sprayed surfaces makes re-ignition very difficult.
Among other principal requirements for the systems are mentioned availability
for immediate operation, no need for engine or ventilation shut-down, sealing of
the spaces or evacuation of personnel when released. It is also mentioned
that the fire-fighting medium used should not endanger life.
